  • Josh Tarnow is an entertainment attorney and business affairs executive with over 13 years of experience focusing on the entertainment, sports, and media industries.

Josh primarily works with production and media companies, producers, and other talent, on the development and production of unscripted programming.

From a development standpoint, Josh works closely with his clients to ensure projects have secured the necessary rights with a clean chain-of-title, and are packaged as strategically as possible with the right talent to help sell in a competitive content marketplace. From a financing standpoint, the programming Josh has worked on is all-encompassing, including client-financed, independently-financed with third-party equity investors, brand/advertiser-financed, fiscal sponsorship, and the traditional studio ‘work-for-hire’ financed model. For projects that are greenlit for production, Josh has handled production legal services for feature-length films, limited series, and multi-season episodic series for all major networks and streamers including Netflix, HBO, Disney, ESPN, TNT, Amazon, Peacock, Fox Sports, Apple, Showtime, CNN, and Vice. Josh’s practice also includes working with talent and production companies on all aspects of advertiser/branded content, including traditional commercial spots and custom digital content. Josh has also structured and advised the formation and launch of several production companies of prominent professional athletes.

Immediately prior to co-founding Sirkin Tarnow, Josh was the first in-house attorney and business affairs executive at Uninterrupted and The SpringHill Company, the production and media companies founded by LeBron James. Prior to Uninterrupted and SpringHill, Josh was an in-house business and legal affairs executive at Fox Sports in LA and Singapore. Prior to Fox Sports, Josh practiced as a corporate lawyer in the mergers and acquisitions department of a large national law firm.

Josh has an LL.M. in entertainment law from the University of Southern California; a J.D. from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia; and a B.A. (Hons.) in Media Production from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
